Do you see the birds? (a series of haiku)

Picture taken right outside my writing room. Do you see the birds?

Picture taken right outside my writing room.
Do you see the birds?

green leaves in shadow

birds perched on slender branches

outside my window

blue birds do fly bys

chirping gossip out of tune

they sing no response

flitting in the breeze

that warns of the coming rain

they seek no shelter

content to just be

little green leafy birds stay

to inspire me

  1. What a wonderful image. Gossiping birds, staying put, inspire of the coming rain, just living their lives and enjoying themselves, being who they are.

  2. I wish I was one of those birds sitting outside your writing room. Looks like a cozy and inspiring place to hang out.

  3. I wrote a haiku poem not so long ago with the exact same title: “Do you hear the birds?” It addresses the issue of the modern world rush rush and the lack of humans slowing down and noticing life. It looks like you’re one of the people that is taking a moment to notice. Good for you.

Always a pleasure to read your Haiku Melanie.

  5. Ah, how sweet those birds must be, birds are good company! I love to hear the birds sing in the early hours of the morning. I don’t always sleep too well, so sometimes I’m still awake, and they often sing me to sleep! 🙂
