White flower from the Chicago Botanic Garden

Another flower picture from Gigi and the resulting micropoetry from me ๐Ÿ™‚

I see a little girl, named
Sunshine (or Sunny for short)
with her blonde hair
in pigtails
and big blue eyes
gleaming mischievously
as she plays hopscotch
in her starched
white dress

Do you see the birds? (a series of haiku)

Picture taken right outside my writing room. Do you see the birds?

Picture taken right outside my writing room.
Do you see the birds?

green leavesย in shadow

birds perched on slender branches

outside my window

โ™

blue birds do fly bys

chirping gossip out of tune

they sing no response

โ™

flitting in the breeze

that warns of the coming rain

they seek no shelter

โ™

content to just be

little green leafy birds stay

to inspire me

New page to Highlight Featured Friends

Found this beautiful image on several sites yet no idea who to credit.

Found this beautiful image on several sites yet no idea who to credit.

Hi All!

As some of youย readย awhile back I added a Featured Friends section on my home page. ย I have added a few more people to that section and decided to also create a separate page for this as well. ย You can find it next to Home, Awards & Who is Responsible for This? (my about me page)

Again, please don’t be offended if you are not on this list. I will revise as I go along ๐Ÿ™‚

My goal here is to just a highlight just a handful of people who:
-actively participate (comments etc)
-whose talent I admire
-who inspire me

I “follow” quite a few blogs but the following are ones that I have truly connected with.

They are a diverse group offering everything from poetry to photography and humor to artwork.

Please visit each of these amazing people. There is something for everyone. Enjoy!

~Melanie
