always

I did not carry you in my womb

nay, you are not from me

yet you are of me

let my love be mother’s milk to you

take the offered nourishment

and as it strenghtens you

it strengthens me

love and acceptance

always

finding pink~ for Michelle Marie, Happy Birthday!

I’ve never been

a pink kind of girl

not a tomboy

but certainly no frills

no froo-froo

rarely caught in a dress

and ruffles are

strictly

NOT

allowed

But you,

you have me

finding pink

embracing it

Flowers kissed with a hint of pink

the blush of pink of a young girls cheek

fushia streaks across the sky

all around me I see pink

and I keep looking

for those pink trees, girl

Cause I know

when i spot one

you will be sitting beneath it

probably sipping

on a pink lemonade 🙂

Be you, Be now

i can’t wrap my head around you

any more than i can understand the

public posturing

of pompous politicians

who gloss over the issues

with ads about their opponents fallibility and hairline

don’t you understand that pocketing watches

does not save you time?

anymore than keeping up with the Jones(s)

or the Kardashians (as the case may be)

will ever make you Happy.

Always waiting, planning for the future

some day, one day….

as life passes you by.

Be you, be now!

What are you waiting for?

common ground

Don’t talk to me of differences

Don’t talk to me of hate

Tear down your defences

it is time to communicate

If we get to know each other

we can find some common ground

teach our children to love one another

the change would be profound

war is not the answer

history can show us that

hate destroys us like a cancer

Peace and Love is where it’s at

Do you see the birds? (a series of haiku)

Picture taken right outside my writing room. Do you see the birds?

Picture taken right outside my writing room.
Do you see the birds?

green leaves in shadow

birds perched on slender branches

outside my window

blue birds do fly bys

chirping gossip out of tune

they sing no response

flitting in the breeze

that warns of the coming rain

they seek no shelter

content to just be

little green leafy birds stay

to inspire me

was it her fault

Did she ask for it?

was her skirt too short?

her top too tight?

too revealing?

did her eyes say yes, while she said no?

was it her fault because she had the nerve to be at that party?

or out alone?

or drinking?

Did she ask for it?

Did it make you feel like a big man?

to take what wasn’t yours?

to use fear and control and body parts as weapons?

Did she ask for it?

Did she want her life forever altered?

or was it You?
