Armor

Even with all of this armor

I feel scantily clad

Exposed &

Vulnerable

Do teardrops

Left unwept

Still equate to weakness?

tendrils

stray tendrils

of mostly forgotten dreams

tease and tickle

at the edge of my memory

Blink

blinking by seconds

minutes become hours

open your eyes to the day

5 haiku

Haiku prompted by the following quote:

[…] “We have lost contact with reality, the simplicity of life”. […] Paulo Coelho

These are separate…and in no particular order.

1.

illumination

of every street light and house

obscure the moonlight

2.

social networking

facebook friends and followers

don’t replace friendship

3.

live your own real life

there is no reality

on television

4.

don’t follow blindly

choose to see reality

knowledge empowers

5.

be here with me now

take off your shoes, stay awhile

enjoy the moments

only the night bore witness

and today is a new day

ricochet

behind white blinds

drawn tight

angry words ricochet

some hit

some graze

out of view

of prying eyes
