Contagion

You were fully aware

that it is contagious.

Yet,

you pointed that yawn

right at me.

Why

Why do you continue

the fool’s dark dance

and deny your own luminosity?

Why do you commit yourself to an eternity of decay?

Self-loathing cause a curious pigmentation

and you are saturated by it

Subtext

You really aren’t as clever as you think

Or maybe you just underestimate me

I did indeed read between the lines

Your message not so hidden after all

Or maybe that was the point

If so, why did you need me to know?

If not to relay your message to its intended recipient

Do you think it paints you in a better light than had you communicated it yourself?

Or maybe, just maybe you didn’t expect me to see the deeper meaning behind it all

Be careful now. . . your slip is showing

Translation

Can I get a translation?

Interpretation??

I don’t happen to speak

your particular brand of crazy.

Tchotchkes

Tchotchkes, knick-knacks, “collectibles”

Whatever you call them

you know what they really are

Dust collectors

Trapping every bit of dust and dander they come in contact with

Sometimes I feel that way

Like a dust collector

for every negative thing

floating my way

Or a gaping black hole

Devouring everything it comes in contact with…

feather duster anyone?
